Find Whatley Cottages Dorset

From the centre of Beaminster take Fleet Street. Continue past the senior school on your left, then keep right at the fork in the road. Proceed a few hundred yards until the very last house on the right called Summer House, then turn right down tarmac driveway signposted to Whatley. Continue over the small bridge, look for the lake on the right which is in our grounds. Turn right onto our driveway.

Changeover Day is normally Friday or Monday so that all of our guests get the chance to enjoy a full weekend at Whatley Cottage, which incidentally will be available to reserve all year.

The Jurassic Coast

West Bay, being only a short drive away is part of the beautiful Jurassic coast which was recently filmed in the ITV Drama Broadchurch. It is a pleasant walk from Whatley across the fields to Beaminster Town.

Within a few minutes drive is the old rope-making town of Bridport with its harbour of West Bay offering boating and sea fishing. In the opposite direction are the well-known holiday haunts of Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

There are many other attractions within easy reach, including Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland Bill, Bovington with its famous Tank Museum, the Swannery and gardens at Abbotsbury, Monkey World, and a host of fine houses and gardens open to the public.
