Access Statement
Whatley Cottage is situated off the B3163, in the North of the town ¾ of a mile from the town centre of Beaminster in West Dorset. Whatley is located at the end of a private, tarmac drive which leads directly to Whatley Cottage on your left.
Whatley is approximately 5.5 miles from Crewkerne railway station, 12 miles from Axminster railway station and 15 miles from both Dorchester West and Dorchester South railway stations. Accessible taxi services are available at all of the above stations by pre-booking. There isn’t currently a bus service directly to Whatley but a bus service does run into Beaminster town centre.
On arrival, please call the pre-arranged number and I will welcome you and show you and your party to the cottage.
Parking is available directly outside the cottage for 1-2 vehicles.
Whatley Cottage is accessed via a wide, single gate and step onto a large, patio area. 5 wide steps then lead down into the cottage courtyard area where double glass doors lead into the cottage. The entrance leads directly into the kitchen which has a newly laid, flagstone floor. The kitchen then leads to the living room through french doors and a continuation of the flagstone floor through the whole of the ground floor. The first floor is accessed via the carpeted, winding staircase with 15 steps onto a carpeted landing area. To the left of the landing is the bathroom which has a traditional, wide planked elm floor and to the right is the bedroom which has an antique pine floor partially covered with a large rug.
Gardens and Outside Areas
Whatley Cottage’s garden has a large, flat patio area with paving slabs and a partially sloping grass area. There are also two large raised beds and covered outside sitting/dining area.
